Our Safe Cosmetics Australia's goal is to raise chemical awareness concerning chemicals in cosmetics, toiletries and household products. To change the way products are made and to create a sustainable and healthier future free from unnecessary potentially harmful chemicals.
  • Brand signs SCA's disclosure agreement to commence application process, confirming that all information supplied is true and correct.

  • Brand pledges to always consider the Ingredients FIRST by way of a legally binding agreement. Brands scrutising  each chemical used in their product formulations, referring to SCA's list of chemicals that form the Key Issues of the campaign, and making the necessary changes to comply.

  • Brands also pledge to uphold the campaign criteria by providing full disclosure at point of sale, on their website, for consumers to access at all times. SCA  screens all product ingredients against our toxicant database of known harmful chemicals comparing the product label to the campaign criteria - Key Issues and Key Allergens

  • Brand receives a screening report on chemicals of concern and asked if they will consider replacing known toxic chemicals with safer alternatives.

  • Products that meet SCA's campaign criteria are awarded SCA's campaign seals Australian Certified Toxic-Free® , Made Safe® and/or Allergy Certified®

  • Brands receive three Free Listings published on the Toxic-Free List and a member account at OBB. Free Listing holders are permitted to use SCA's trademarked campaign seals online only. Approved brands have the option to upgrade their Basic Membership to a Featured or Premium Membership for an annual fee. Both options include full use of SCA's trademarked campaign seals both online and offline including all printed materials. For more information see For Companies >
